Truck drivers Steve Hackett and Bill Purvis are fired for not using second gear on steep grades. They're offered a $1000 bonus to deliver a mysterious cargo to Arrowhead, told it's a load of lettuce. However, when they're stopped by striking lettuce-farm workers, the first crate explodes, revealing the cargo is actually dynamite. They meet Mary Stevens and her dog Butch, and together they deliver the cargo, only to discover that unscrupulous real-estate operators are trying to ruin local ranchers and farmers to take over their property.

Two former truck drivers, Steve and Bill, are hired for a new mission after being fired from their previous job for allegedly neglecting to use second gear on steep inclines. Their new task is to transport a mysterious cargo, requested by the company's vice-president, Davis.
