A battle-weary Civil War veteran returns to his peaceful hometown, where he finds himself caught in a brutal conflict between his loved ones and a ruthless cattle baron.
In 1866, the Civil War has just ended, and two families, the Rileys and the McCluskeys, live in rural Texas. The Rileys make a living by trapping animals, while the McCluskeys, who lost their cattle business in the war, steal from the Rileys' traps.
