Emancipation background

Emancipation

A fugitive slave navigates the treacherous Louisiana bayous, fueled by an unyielding resolve to break free from the merciless plantation owners who had nearly consumed his spirit.

In 1863 Louisiana, a black slave named Gordon dreamed of freedom, imagining a life where black people could live without oppression, just like their white masters. The film "Emancipation" tells the story of Gordon's courageous fight to live with honor, dignity, and a normal life, risking everything to join the Lincoln Army and fight for the freedom of his fellow African Americans.
