Angie, a Brazilian painter, leaves her family in Brazil to find her estranged father in the United States. She travels across the country, working odd jobs and camping out, until she meets a homeless man named Chuck who becomes her protector. After parting ways with Chuck, Angie meets a highway police officer named David, who offers her a job and a place to stay in his trailer. Despite their growing feelings for each other, Angie is hesitant to commit to David and eventually leaves him. However, she soon discovers secrets that change her perspective and feelings towards him.
