The Day the Earth Stood Still

In this sci-fi thriller, Dr. Helen Benson is called to a military facility in New York City where an alien spacecraft has landed, carrying a human-like extraterrestrial named Klaatu and a massive robot. Klaatu claims to have come to save the Earth, but US authorities view him as a threat and attempt to interrogate him. Dr. Benson, however, decides to help Klaatu escape and soon learns the true nature of his mission, leading her to try and change his plans.
