In a sprawling mansion, 24-year-old Tod and his 22-year-old sister Lani live a charmed life with their grandmother Judy, a former movie star. Tod's life takes a dark turn when he accidentally kills Judy. To maintain his lifestyle, Tod plots to cover up the death, keep her show running, and keep the money flowing. He convinces Judy's partner Barb to let Lani host the show, and the ratings increase. Tod then turns his attention to the handyman Jacob, who is involved with Lani, to help him complete his plan. Despite close calls with the LAPD, Tod outwits everyone and rides off into the California sunset with Lani.
