Foley, a former con artist, is released from prison after 25 years for murdering his partner Eddy. He tries to turn over a new leaf, finding work at a construction site and meeting with his probation officer. However, Eddy's son Ethan tracks him down, tempting him with a lucrative swindle. Foley initially resists, but soon finds himself drawn into Ethan's scheme after being blackmailed with a dark secret. Meanwhile, Foley starts a relationship with a prostitute named Iris, unaware of the danger that lies ahead as they become entangled in a confidence game targeting a ruthless kingpin.
