A mercenary, Major Max Gatling, is hired to rescue a wealthy industrialist's daughter, Jude, from a city overrun by zombies. After his team is killed, Max finds Jude and joins her with other survivors, but they refuse to flee without the others. Max is left to die, but is rescued by Reese to save Jude and her unborn child. Together, they find a group of robots that can help kill zombies and reprogram them to aid in their escape.
