Biography

Jeff Pruitt, a talented stunt coordinator, director, and actor, was born in the majestic mountains of north Georgia and later graduated from high school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His childhood was marked by an early passion for racing motorcycles, which he started doing at the tender age of ten. Additionally, Pruitt's competitive spirit led him to participate in Karate tournaments, ultimately earning him a black belt in Tang Soo Do.

As he entered college, Pruitt began to explore his creative side by working as a production assistant, camera operator, and occasional extra in various film and television productions shot in the Atlanta area. His athletic background eventually led him to pursue a career in stunt performing.

In the 1980s, Pruitt made the move to Los Angeles, where he reunited with a director he had previously worked with in Georgia. He began to make a name for himself by choreographing martial arts fights for Hollywood productions. At the time, Pruitt's innovative approach, which combined fast-paced fight combinations with creative stunt falls and wire work, was considered unconventional. It took persistence and persuasion to convince others to adopt his style.

Pruitt's hard work and dedication eventually paid off, as he went on to direct and stunt coordinate the popular television series, The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He successfully merged the traditional Japanese style of the original series with his own unique stunts, making the show a huge success.

Throughout his career, Pruitt has continued to direct, choreograph, rig, and coordinate action sequences for a wide range of projects, including feature films, music videos, commercials, and television shows. Some of his notable credits include the hit series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and many more.

Pruitt's innovative approach and creative contributions to the film and television industry have earned him recognition, including being listed as one of Hollywood's 100 Most Creative People by Entertainment Weekly magazine. He has also designed stunt equipment and harnesses that are used worldwide.
