Martin Bristol, a 14-year-old boy with congenital insensitivity to pain, is kidnapped by a deranged serial killer and taken to an abandoned meat-packing plant. Five years later, Allison Miller, a 17-year-old girl who has lost her parents, moves to her uncle's house near the plant. Despite her uncle's warnings, Allison begins to frequent the area and meets a mechanic named Billy, with whom she develops a crush.
