Born to Sing background

Born to Sing

Talented songwriter Frank's original compositions are stolen by cunning promoter Cartwright, who had Frank write them while he was in prison. Frank's friends, determined to give him the recognition he deserves, confront Cartwright, but are wrongly accused of extortion and arrested despi...

When Frank's stolen songs are discovered, the boys are falsely accused of extortion and arrested. However, they're fortunate to be sharing a cell with Pete, whose gang helps spring them. To clear their names and prove the songs belong to Frank, the boys and Patsy organize a show in a local theater, enlisting the help of neighborhood kids to paint the scenery and perform. Meanwhile, Pete ensures that Cartwright's rival show, "Melody for You," doesn't open on the same night, and his cabs bring in a crowd to support the boys' production.
