This year, they both wished to meet their soulmate by Christmas. While Amy has already found hers, Cara meets Chace on the way to New York for Amy's wedding. However, she loses touch with him and instead runs into Michael, a talented writer who doesn't celebrate traditional Christmas. Michael is on the verge of being fired and is tasked with writing about obscure Christmas activities in New York. Cara makes a deal with Michael to accompany her on her search for Chace in exchange for his help in becoming a graphic designer.
