A young boy's world is disrupted when his mother abruptly departs on his 5th birthday, and he finds solace and a new sense of belonging with his father's new partner, who takes on a maternal role.

A 10-year-old boy, abandoned by his mother on his 5th birthday, is taken in by his promiscuous father's new partner, Claudia, who gradually becomes a loving mother figure to him. As they form a strong bond, Claudia finds passion and Joshua finds the love he's been missing. However, their happiness is short-lived as the father moves on to another woman and Joshua's mother returns, leaving Joshua torn between his desire for stability and his strong attachment to Claudia.
