Matthew William Lawrence is the middle child of Donna Lawrence (née Shaw),a personnel manager, and Joe Lawrence Sr., an insurance broker, with his older brother Joey Lawrence and younger brother Andrew Lawrence. As a young boy, Matthew began accompanying his mother to New York City, where he and his brother would attend singing and dancing lessons, as well as audition for commercials.
Growing up, Matthew naturally developed a passion for the arts, just like his older brother Joey, who was already making a name for himself in the entertainment industry. At the tender age of three, Matthew started landing national commercials, and by the time he was four, he had already booked two major deals.
As he grew older, Matthew's family made the decision to relocate to Los Angeles, where he would attend high school and later study at the University of Southern California (USC). Despite his busy schedule as an actor, Matthew excelled in biology and the sciences, showcasing his academic prowess.
Throughout his career, Matthew has appeared in a range of projects, including the popular TV show "Boy Meets World" and the film "Mrs. Doubtfire," alongside Robin Williams and Sally Field. He has also had roles in blockbuster shows such as "CSI: Miami" and "The Hot Chick."
In recent years, Matthew reprised his role as Jack Hunter on the spin-off series "Girl Meets World," which aired on Disney Channel. The show followed the adventures of Cory Matthews, played by Ben Savage, and his daughter Riley, as they navigated the ups and downs of adolescence.
Today, Matthew resides in a suburb of Los Angeles, where he continues to work in the entertainment industry, pursuing his passion for acting and other creative pursuits.
