At the turn of the 19th century, railway engineer Robert Adamson travels to East Africa to investigate stalled construction on the Kilimanjaro Region railroad. He befriends a young East African boy, Pasha, and a woman, Jane Carlton, who's searching for her missing father, a railroad engineer. As Adamson navigates the challenges of competing railroad companies and hostile native tribes, he must also keep his promises to both friends and find Jane's father.
