Seattle-based snowboarding equipment manufacturer Ben Livingston and mystery novelist Cara Reneau, planning a Rome destination wedding, face scheduling issues due to their busy professional lives. They decide to hold a wedding in ten days at Clara Lake ski resort, where they met, fell in love, and got engaged. Cara's best friend Megan and Ben's sister Zoey will be involved in the wedding, while Ben's physician friend Sean is stationed overseas. Sean plans to propose to Megan with Ben's help. Meanwhile, Cara's publisher requests a pitch for the trilogy's conclusion, and she discovers the story of the resort's founders, whose marriage didn't survive the initial romance. Ben may doubt Cara's feelings if he learns how she plans to conclude the trilogy, and Cara may question whether she can trust Ben as a husband due to his secrecy.
