The Mesquiteers, Stony Brooke, Rusty Joslin, and Rico, intervene when an 1870s wagon train is attacked by Indians and agree to guide the settlers to their destination. The settlers, led by Dr. Bailey, have been lured westward by offers of cheap land, but find the land worthless and are faced with exorbitant taxes.
