Jeff Jackson, a retired Boston PD detective, is hired by his friend, Chief Madieras, for a one-time security job at the Pendray Inn on Martha's Vineyard. The inn's owner, Britt Prajna, is having the Lakshmi Emeralds, worth $5 million, returned to her after they were stolen from her family over 60 years ago. The emeralds are being displayed at the inn, and the event is attended by the island's elite, including a gemologist, a reporter, and a museum curator. However, things take a turn when Britt is attacked and the emeralds are stolen, and later, one of the attendees is found murdered, with signs pointing to the theft of the emeralds.
