Michael Robert Vickerman, a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, embarked on a journey in the film industry after attending film school at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, where he later transferred to Columbia Film School.
At the tender age of 20, Vickerman began his career as a professional writer while working as a production assistant for Sylvester Stallone's White Eagle Entertainment. Stallone took notice of a screenplay Vickerman had written for a school project and subsequently commissioned him to write scripts for his company, including uncredited rewrites on the International blockbuster Cliffhanger, released in 1993.
Upon graduation, Vickerman was hired by Law Brothers Entertainment to write and develop both a screenplay and children's books for their toy creation, "Kung Fu Kangaroos." This project eventually became the $35 million MGM production, Warriors of Virtue, released in 1997.
Over the next fifteen years, Vickerman wrote, directed, and/or produced an impressive eighteen films. In 2002, he directed Clover Bend, starring the late Robert Urich and David Keith. Two years later, Vickerman wrote and directed Warriors of Virtue: The Return to Tao, shot entirely in Beijing, China.
As a testament to his dedication and perseverance, Vickerman's body of work showcases his versatility and talent in the film industry.
