Bill Doolin, a notorious outlaw, is forced to flee after surviving the Coffeyville bank raid that killed the Dalton gang. Wanted for murder, he assumes leadership of the Doolin gang, but eventually seeks redemption by abandoning his outlaw lifestyle and adopting a new identity. However, his past catches up with him, and he's once again pursued by the law, leading him to resume his life of crime.
