Columbia's 14th serial, the second based on the character from the pulp magazine "The Spider Magazine", follows Richard Wentworth, aka the Spider, as he returns to fight against the underworld. A gang of saboteurs, led by the mysterious Gargoyle, is wreaking havoc on National Defense projects, and Wentworth must stop them. After being taken prisoner and left on a burning airplane, Wentworth's quest to uncover the Gargoyle's identity begins, but it's complicated by the fact that the Gargoyle is one of the businessmen attending Wentworth's meetings.

A demonic Gargoyle, cloaked in mystery, unleashes chaos on America's industrial strongholds, imperiling national security, and only the Spider stands between the nation and disaster.
