The US Army creates a special unit called the Tunnel Rats during the Vietnam War to eliminate the Viet-Cong's extensive network of tunnels in the Cu-Chi district outside Saigon. The tunnels, booby-trapped with mines, grenades, and other hazards, allow the Viet-Cong to launch surprise attacks on American bases and Saigon, then disappear into the tunnels.
