In 1938 Los Angeles, the manager of the Culver Hotel temporarily steps away, entrusting his nephew to run the hotel for the weekend. The nephew's mischievous decision to rename it the Hotel Rainbow sets off a chaotic chain of events as a diverse group of guests, including royalty, spies, tourists, and actors from The Wizard of Oz, converge on the hotel. Amidst the mayhem, a Secret Service agent and a casting director find love amidst the intrigue.
