A young Chinese orphan named Mei Mei's arrival in Sydney sets off a chain of unexpected events in her life, particularly in her relationship with Dean Randall, a man who has sponsored her for years.

A 16-year-old Chinese orphan, Mei Mei, longs to be part of a perfect family. When her orphanage attends the Australian Choir Festival, Mei Mei seeks out her Australian sponsor, Dean Randall, but finds a reality different from what she expected. Despite their initial mismatch, they embark on a journey to discover belonging, family, redemption, love, and acceptance.
