Inspired by the life of William Marshall and "The Canterbury Tales," the story follows a young squire with a talent for jousting. After his master's sudden death, he embarks on a journey with Roland and Wat, meeting Chaucer along the way. The squire convinces Chaucer to create fake genealogy documents, allowing him to pass as a knight. He then sets out to prove himself at the country's jousting competition, finding love in the process.
