After college, Stielstra moved to NYC, where he acted on "Saturday Night Live" during the 1993 TV season. He then ventured to Los Angeles, where he appeared in background roles in "Boogie Nights" and "Saved By The Bell" before landing a line in the Tom Cruise film "Jerry Maguire".
In 2012, Stielstra shifted his focus to Italy, where he began a prolific career in westerns, narrating and co-scoring the documentary "Eurocrime!" and starring in the western "The Scarlet Worm". He continued to work in westerns, appearing in "Six Bullets to Hell", "The Price of Death", and "The Bounty Killer", all shot in Spain.
Stielstra also ventured into TV, starring in the PBS film "The Mona Lisa Myth" and working three seasons of the Disney TV show "Penny on MARS". He has also completed four supernatural horror films, including "The Curse of the Blind Dead", in which he fought the Italian Sean Connery, Fabio Testi.
In addition to his film and TV work, Stielstra is a musician, playing guitar for children's storytimes in libraries and directing grotesque political comedies, such as "Weber Falls, USA", which can be seen on YouTube. He has also acted in the mini-series "Catch-22", "American Night", and "They Talk", and has completed an international Smart Car commercial in Barcelona.
Stielstra has provided soundtracks for over 20 films and has performed in the punk rock band The Distortionists, as well as the band War, Covid and Trump.
