Biography

Aasha Davis was born in Alexandria, Virginia, and spent her childhood traversing the globe, relocating to various parts of the world. At the tender age of seven, she embarked on an international educational journey, attending boarding school in Barbados. This experience would set the stage for her future adaptability, as she would later attend school in Montreal, Canada, before returning to the United States.

Her high school years were marked by a sense of continuity, as she spent four years at Washington International School, where she honed her skills in languages and developed a strong foundation in international education. Aasha's academic pursuits culminated with her graduation from Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Massachusetts, where she was an accomplished varsity volleyball player and developed a passion for classic rock music.

The collegiate years found Aasha at George Washington University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. Following her graduation, she made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles, California, where she would pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

Aasha's early foray into the industry was marked by a stint as a production assistant on a late-night talk show, which would prove to be a pivotal moment in her career. It was during this time that she discovered her latent talent for acting, and she soon found herself appearing in various skits and television shows.

Television audiences would come to know Aasha through her numerous appearances on prominent series such as "Criminal Minds," "Grey's Anatomy," "Castle," and "House M.D.," as well as her starring role as Waverly Grady on NBC's critically acclaimed "Friday Night Lights." In 2009, she received a NAACP Los Angeles Theatre Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the hilarious adaptation of "Coffee Will Make You Black."

Aasha's feature film debut was met with critical acclaim, as she starred in the Sundance hit "Pariah," which went on to win numerous awards, including the Sundance Cinematography Award, the Independent Spirit John Cassavetes Award, and a GLAAD Award for Outstanding Film. A decade after its release, "Pariah" was inducted into the Academy Museum and preserved by the Criterion Collection.

In addition to her film work, Aasha co-starred in and produced the popular and award-winning web series "The Unwritten Rules." Her versatility as an actress was further showcased when she joined the ensemble cast of the Emmy-nominated "Drunk History." Today, Aasha resides in Los Angeles with her son, continuing to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry.
