Adam Jared Brody was born and raised in San Diego, California, to Valerie Jill Siefman, a graphic artist, and Mark Alan Brody, a lawyer. His parents, originally from Michigan, both hail from Jewish families with roots in Russia and Poland. As a teenager, Adam spent his days surfing and hanging out with friends, having a blast. Upon graduation, he convinced his parents to let him attend college in Los Angeles, but instead of enrolling, he hired an acting coach, signed with a talent manager, and landed the lead role in the NBC movie-of-the-week "Growing Up Brady" (2000),playing Barry Williams, aka Greg Brady.
This early success led to Brody being cast as the lead in the MTV series "Much Ado About Whatever" (2001),and he also landed recurring roles in ABC's "Once and Again" (1999),as Coop, and in The WB's "Gilmore Girls" (2000),as Dave Rygalski. His guest-starring credits include standout roles in "Judging Amy" (1999),"Family Law" (1999),and "Smallville" (2001).
