Adam grew up in the vibrant city of New York, specifically in the iconic New York City, where he spent his formative years. He then went on to attend The Fieldston School, a prestigious institution that prepared him for his future academic and professional pursuits. His academic excellence earned him a spot at Harvard University, where he further honed his skills and knowledge.
Adam's early foray into the world of acting saw him land roles in popular TV shows such as Living Single, Will & Grace, and The Parkers. He also made a notable appearance in the Emmy-winning mini-series The Temptations, where he played the character "Flynn". His impressive performance earned him a nomination for an NAACP Image Award for his role as "Nathan Hastings" in the popular soap opera The Young & Restless.
In addition to his acting career, Adam has also ventured into the world of production and adaptation. He co-produced and adapted two projects, Just Passin' Through and What Angles Fear, for the Dreambuilder Foundation and Proctor & Gamble. Both projects went on to win Emmy Awards for Regional TV, with Adam himself winning consecutive Regional Emmy Awards for Best Lead Actor.
More recently, Adam has appeared in a range of films and TV shows, including the hit movie Uncle Drew, Joel Edgerton's directorial debut The Gift, Lethal Weapon, Rosewood, Glow (Netflix/Jenji Kohan),and Scandal. He has also had recurring roles on Heroes, Criminal Minds, Love's Routine (co-starring with W. Defoe),and Ocean's 13 (co-starring with Al Pacino).
Adam's passion for storytelling extends beyond acting and production. He co-wrote, produced, and starred in the film Forgiveness, which won the Martha's Vineyard Film Festival's HBO Prize and swept the San Diego Film Black Fest, including Best Feature Film and Best Supporting Actor for Adam.
In addition to his work in film and television, Adam has also had a successful career in theater. He has appeared in challenging roles such as Mercutio in Michael Arabian's Romeo & Juliet, Bobby Seale in Ron Sossi's Chicago Conspiracy Trial, and Cody in Neil LaBute's This is How It Goes. Adam was also an executive member of the renowned Circle Rep. West Company.
Adam's athletic prowess was evident in his high school days, where he excelled in music, playing guitar and saxophone, and was a talented athlete, achieving honors in football and baseball. He even started at quarterback for the Harvard Crimson, earning Ivy League Player of the Week, E.C.A.C player of the Week, and The New England Sports Writers' Player of the Week.
Adam's family has a rich history of public service, with his father serving as a NY City and State Commissioner, and his mother being an author and former professor at The New School for Social Research. His brother, Khary Lazarre-White, is the Founder of The Brotherhood/Sister Sol, an award-winning Harlem-based Youth Organization that published his first novel in 2017, Passage.
As a director, Adam's short film "200 Years" produced by Rob Fried (Collateral, Rudy, Boondock Saints),for Feeln' Originals, reached the 3rd round of Oscar voting. Adam is currently married to actress Dendrie Taylor and they have a beloved daughter, Aiyana.
