Ahd Hassan Kamel is a highly accomplished and celebrated actress and filmmaker, hailing from the vibrant city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Her remarkable career has garnered widespread recognition, particularly for her captivating portrayal of Fatima in the 2018 BBC2/Netflix series, Collateral, and her star-studded role in the 2014 BAFTA-nominated film, Wadjda.
Born and raised in Saudi Arabia, Ahd embarked on a new chapter in her life when she relocated to the bustling metropolis of New York City in 1998. She went on to pursue her academic endeavors, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Animation & Communication from the prestigious Parsons School of Design in 2014. Subsequently, Ahd acquired a Directing degree from the New York Film Academy in 2015. Furthermore, she had the privilege of studying Acting under the guidance of the renowned William Esper at the William Esper Studio.
Ahd's impressive repertoire extends to her work as a writer, director, and actress. She has crafted two award-winning short films, The Shoemaker 'Al-Qondorji' (2009) and Sanctity 'Hurma' (2012),which have garnered widespread acclaim. Ahd currently resides with her partner in London.
