Ajay Friese, a talented American-Canadian actor and musician, has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry. He has had a successful career in television, with series regular roles on Netflix's sci-fi drama Lost in Space and recurring roles on four other Netflix Original Series, including Riverdale and Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.
Friese's film debut came in 2019 with a lead role in the critically acclaimed Riot Girls, which was executive produced by the creator of Insidious. He is set to star in the upcoming crime/mystery feature film Coming Soon, produced by the producer of The Witch, and will play the role of Deshad in the upcoming Apple+ film The Beanie Bubble, produced by Ron Howard and starring Elizabeth Banks and Zach Galifianakis.
Before transitioning to film and television, Friese began his acting career in live theatre, with over a dozen credits including Oliver! and A Midsummer Night's Dream. He has acted with several professional theatre and opera companies and holds a special place in his heart for his high school production of Phantom of the Opera, where he played the role of The Phantom.
In addition to his acting career, Friese is also a songwriter and recording artist. His debut album, "light a match... then run," was recorded in NYC and features Bon Jovi's Everett Bradley as producer. The album was released in 2021. Friese's band, Close The Bombay Doors, received three Vancouver Island Music Awards for their EP, which was recorded while he was still in high school. The band performed at the Rifflandia Music Festival in 2014.
Born in Victoria, BC, Canada, Friese is now 23 years old and lives in Vancouver. In his spare time, he is studying the humanities at Quest University.
