Alan Cappelli Goetz was born in Brasschaat, Antwerp, Belgium, to Heidi Goetz and Alessandro Cappelli. He spent his childhood between Belgium and Italy, attending the CEIS, Italian-Switzerland School in Rimini. After graduating from the communication-based high school, Liceo della Comunicazione, he began working on local television and radio stations, discovering his passion for theater and expanding his musical knowledge with piano, drum, and singing lessons.
Alan lived in Toronto for half a year before returning to Italy, where he enrolled in the Department of Architecture and then Psychology at La Sapienza University in Rome. It was during his time at the university that he was introduced to a professional career in acting. In 2008, he was accepted into the Italian National Cinema School, Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, where he took part in theater projects and several movies.
Before completing his education, Alan was selected as the lead role for two TV series, "La Famiglia Gabardella" and "Notte Prima degli Esami". He was later discovered by "De Agostini" for the commercial of Giovanni Minoli and went on to star in a series of television advertisements for the international Italian phone company TIM, working with renowned director Gabriele Muccino and producer Caterina Caselli.
In 2009, Alan was invited to Montepulciano to serve as Robert Pattinson's body double in the Twilight sequel "New Moon". He continued to hone his craft through annual theater and stage experience, which led to his first lead role in the feature-length film "La Citta' Invisible" in 2009. The film was shot in the emergency field of the earthquake-hit city of L'Aquila.
In 2011, Alan was cast in the role of a French artist in the TV series "Tutti Pazzi per Amore" and as the antagonist in the TV show "Come un Delfino", a story about a Roman swim team. He also starred in the movie "Come non Detto", which received critical acclaim for its young director Ivan Silvestrini.
During the summer of 2012, Alan was involved in the filming of "Che Dioci Aiuti" and "A un Passo dal Cielo", a TV show for Rai1 set in the Italian Dolomiti mountains. In 2013, he played Prince Geretz in Alessandro Siani's directing debut "Il Principe Abusivo", which became one of the highest-grossing films in the Italian box office, surpassing even Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit".
On TV, Alan starred as Antonio in "Crossing Lines", a crime show produced by Tandem and TF1, alongside Donald Sutherland and William Fichtner. Despite his busy schedule, Alan has also worked on several independent projects, including "Elavia", a fantasy-based film, and "LARpers", an irreverent web series.
