Alan Fletcher's illustrious career in the entertainment industry began on the stage at Perth's Hole in the Wall Theatre, where he honed his craft before transitioning to the Perth Theatre Company at the National Theatre, Western Australia. It was during this period that he had the privilege of sharing the spotlight with esteemed talents such as Warren Mitchell, Honor Blackman, Tom Stoppard, Bill Kerr, and Tim Brooke-Taylor.
Following three years of solid work, Alan made the move to Sydney, where he landed his first television role in The Young Doctors in 1976. This was soon followed by his breakout role as Constable Frank Rossi on Cop Shop in 1977, a character that would cement his status as a household name in Australia.
Alan's subsequent work in film and television included notable roles in The Love Boat, Gross Misconduct, and Mercy Mission: The Rescue of Flight 771, opposite notable actors such as Morgan Fairchild, Jimmy Smits, and Scott Bakula.
In 1998, Alan returned to his theatrical roots with the Melbourne Theatre Company (MTC),where he took on various lead roles for the next three years. His return to Australian television was met with critical acclaim, earning him a nomination for an Australian Film Institute (AFI) Award for Best Actor in a Series for his portrayal of Australian Consul Michael Clayton in the series Embassy in 1990.
In 1994, Alan took on the iconic role of Dr. Karl Kennedy on the long-running Australian soap opera Neighbours, a character he continues to play to this day. In addition to his work on the show, Alan has also ventured back onto the stage, starring in productions such as Mame, and has hosted various television documentaries and lifestyle programs.
