Biography

Alex was born in north-east Romania in 1979, during the communist regime, into a working-class family. From a young age, he demonstrated a keen interest in the performing arts, repeatedly winning poetry recital competitions starting from the tender age of five.

As he grew older, Alex's passion for the stage only intensified, and he joined the drama club in his first year of high school. This marked the beginning of a remarkable journey, as the club went on to win regional competitions year after year, solidifying Alex's reputation as a talented young performer.

Alex's early success and recognition led him to pursue a degree in Drama and Performing Arts at University, where he honed his craft and developed his skills. Upon graduating, he began working with the local theatre, Mihai Eminescu, initially taking on small roles but soon earning the respect of his peers and landing leading parts.

He was particularly notable for his comedic roles, showcasing his natural talent for making audiences laugh. At the age of 21, Alex moved to Constanta to attend Ovidius University, where he studied drama and the performing arts at The Caragiale Academy of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography in Bucharest.

During his four-year studies, he was invited to join the local theatre, further solidifying his connection to the world of performing arts. After completing his degree, Alex decided to take his talents to the world stage, embarking on a journey that would take him to Greece and Cyprus, where he worked as a hotel entertainer.

This experience allowed him to develop his skills in dramatic fire shows, presentation, audience participation, and stage performing, while also improving his language skills, becoming fluent in Romanian, English, French, and Italian. After six years of entertaining and exploring the world, Alex's desire to break into screen acting led him to make the bold move to London.

Since then, he has been involved in a variety of film and television projects, including music and corporate videos, the movie 1603, the short film Adversary, and the successful series The Night Manager. Alex has often been cast as a villain due to his Eastern European gangster look and accent, but he equally enjoys taking on comedic roles, which come naturally to him.
