Alex Høgh Andersen, a talented actor, was born and raised in a small town southwest of Copenhagen. He is currently a series regular in the History Channel drama, Vikings, playing the role of 'Ivar the Boneless', the son of Ragnar Lothbrok.
Andersen's journey in acting began while studying drama at a school for young children between the ages of 7 and 19. He learned the basics of acting, including discipline, focus, and teamwork, and participated in many musical-oriented plays, taking on big parts and gaining valuable experience.
As his peers began auditioning for film roles, Andersen realized the difference between acting in front of an audience and in front of a camera, which translated into his work. He started auditioning and went on to study Film and Media Studies at the University of Copenhagen.
Andersen has appeared in numerous television and film projects in Denmark, and Vikings marks his Hollywood debut. When not acting, he focuses on photography, considering himself a visual-minded person who continues to learn about cameras, partly due to his experience shooting and directing short films.
Andersen also gives back to charities, including Unicef, Care Denmark, and Kræftensbekæmpelse (Fighting Cancer),which he relates to as his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer seven years ago.
