Alex K. Rojas, also known as Alex Kruz, is a multifaceted individual with a rich cultural heritage. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Ecuadorian-American parents, his ancestry is primarily composed of Quechua, Nahua, and Mayan indigenous roots.
Adopted into the Mescalero Apache Tribe by renowned Native American Martial Arts Hall of Famer Robert Redfeather, Alex K. Rojas has undergone extensive training in military and law enforcement tactics, including manhunting, tracking, and hand-to-hand combat. He has even provided instruction to Army officers and Green Berets for operations in Afghanistan, as well as consulting and training for various movie and TV productions, such as Person of Interest and The Americans.
As a performer, Alex K. Rojas has had a distinguished career in live performances, playing the iconic Zorro character for Zorro Productions and appearing in theatrical productions opposite Bruce Willis in "God Steeling." He has also been recognized for his work in television, earning Emmy nominations for his military and COVID-19 segments on CUNY TV, and winning an Emmy for the latter.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Alex K. Rojas has been recognized for his humanitarian efforts. He received the Congressional Award for Humanitarianism in 2018 from New York State Senator Chuck Schumer for his work combating sex trafficking in the golden triangle and Nepal/India border.
As a filmmaker, Alex K. Rojas has made a significant impact, directing and producing numerous shorts. His 2016 short, "Parivara," premiered at the Cambridge Film Festival and garnered lifetime scholarships for the children of the Goldungha blind orphanage from the government of Nepal. His 2014 short, "Godka cirka," was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance, and his 2024 short, "La Gran Obra," produced with Alex Lora, won the 2024 Sundance Grand Jury Prize.
