Alex Langlands is a renowned British archaeologist and historian, celebrated for his work as a presenter of educational documentary series on British television. With a strong academic background, Langlands holds degrees in medieval archaeology and world archaeology from University College London.
He furthered his studies by completing a MPhil/PhD in early medieval history and archaeology at the University of Winchester in 2013. Langlands' extensive television credits include presenting series such as Victorian Farm, Edwardian Farm, Wartime Farm, and the 2005 series Tales from the Green Valley.
In 2011, he joined Time Team on Channel 4, and later that year, he edited an abridged version of Henry Stephens's Book of the Farm, a historical reference work used for the series Victorian Farm. Langlands' versatility was showcased when he participated as a competitor on BBC TV's The Great Sport Relief Bake Off in 2012.
From October 2013 to August 2015, Langlands served as a Lecturer at the University of Winchester. He then took up the post of Lecturer in the Department of History and Classics at Swansea University in 2015. In 2016, Langlands co-presented the BBC Two series Victorian Bakers alongside Annie Gray, a historian, cook, lecturer, and writer.
