Alfie Evan Allen, a talented English actor, was born on September 12, 1986, in Hammersmith, London. His parents, Alison Owen, a film producer, and Keith Allen, a Welsh-born actor, instilled in him a passion for the arts from a young age. Allen's older sister, Lily Allen, is a renowned singer-songwriter, and her hit song "Alfie" is a tribute to him.
Growing up, Allen attended several prestigious schools, including Windlesham House School in Sussex, Embley Park School near Romsey, St John's College in Portsmouth, and the Fine Arts College in Hampstead. He also has a notable connection to the music industry, being a third cousin of singer Sam Smith.
Allen's early foray into acting began with a one-off Channel 4 comedy, "You Are Here," in 1998, co-written by Matt Lucas and David Walliams. The same year, he and his sister Lily appeared in the film "Elizabeth," produced by their mother. His small roles in "Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London" and "Atonement" soon followed.
In the years leading up to his breakout role, Allen appeared in various projects, including BBC1's historical drama "Casualty 1907" and a nationwide tour of the play "Equus." He also co-starred with his then-partner Jaime Winstone in the music video for "Dust Devil" by Madness and had a role in the BBC2 film "Freefall."
Allen's big break came when he was cast as Theon Greyjoy in the HBO medieval fantasy series "Game of Thrones" in 2011. The show's massive success catapulted him to international recognition, and he went on to appear in films such as "Soulboy," "The Kid," "Freestyle," and "Powder" in 2010. In 2012, he starred in the British thriller "Confine."
In 2016, Allen embarked on a two-part documentary for the History Channel, "Football: A Brief History," exploring the roots of Association Football and his take on the English game. As a self-confessed Arsenal fan, Allen's passion for football is evident, and he even visited Scottish football club Rangers during the filming process.
