Biography

Born in Richmond, Virginia, Alice Beardsley embarked upon a theatrical journey at the tender age of 12, taking to the stage for the first time in the festively adorned hall of her junior high school, where she donned a disguise and revelled in playing the villainous role of Gretel in the classic tale of 'Hansel and Gretel', a performance that proved to be merely the beginning of a long and illustrious career, as Alice Beardsley's passion for the craft drove her to pursue her dream of becoming a professional actress, a goal that was fueled by her early start in the world of acting, which allowed her to hone her skills and develop a deep understanding of the craft, ultimately leading her to become a talented and accomplished actress.

After completing her academic pursuits at the prestigious University of Iowa, Alice Beardsley embarked on a journey to master the art of acting, undertaking a rigorous training regimen under the guidance of the illustrious Stella Adler, a celebrated acting coach of her time.

In the year 1955, Beardsley made her professional debut on the New York stage, assuming the role of Maggie in the theatrical production of 'Eastward in Eden', thus inaugurating a distinguished career that would see her perform on numerous stages, including both Broadway and off-Broadway venues, as well as various other theatrical spaces.

Alice Beardsley's impressive professional record boasts a diverse array of credits, including a series of small yet significant roles in six feature films, among which is the Woody Allen-directed 'Zelig', a critically acclaimed and culturally significant motion picture. In addition to her work in film, Beardsley also made appearances in numerous episodes of popular television series, such as 'Naked City', a groundbreaking police procedural drama that pushed the boundaries of television storytelling, 'U.S. Steel Hour', a anthology series that explored a wide range of genres and themes, and 'American Playhouse', a showcase for innovative and often avant-garde theatrical productions.
