Andy's remarkable journey in the world of performance began with his involvement in alternative theatre and circus, where he had the distinction of sharing the stage with the renowned Circus Lumiere and the esteemed French circus Archaos. During this period, he refined his skills as a director and performer with Rational Theatre from 1982 to 1989.
Subsequently, Andy ventured into the realm of music videos, collaborating on several projects with the esteemed band Underworld, and founded his own company, Impossible Films, which enabled him to direct commercials. His foray into filmmaking was sparked by a project commissioned by La Sept TV in France, featuring Circus Archaos, which ultimately led to a thriving career in UK TV drama.
Andy's outstanding direction was recognized with the prestigious Cable Ace award for his work on a mini-series for Cracker, and he went on to direct notable films such as Playing God, starring Angelina Jolie and David Duchovny, for Touchstone.
In recent years, Andy has showcased his expertise by directing episodes of Endeavour, Poirot, Ripper Street, and the critically acclaimed ITV drama Unforgotten, solidifying his reputation as a masterful director.
