ANT was born in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, to Greek immigrant parents Lee and Maria. He was raised in a strict Greek Orthodox household but later explored other religions, including Taoism, Hinduism, and Scientology. ANT believes he is a spiritual being searching for answers.
ANT attended Londonderry High School and the University of New Hampshire, where he was known as "what's your name again?" He dropped out of college after a semester to pursue a career in stand-up comedy.
In 1993, ANT moved to Los Angeles and began performing comedy full-time. He gained recognition and landed roles in TV shows such as "Howe High" and "Unhappily Ever After." He also appeared on various series and specials, including "Tosh.0," "America's Next Top Model," and "The Jamie Foxx Show."
ANT's big break came with NBC's "Last Comic Standing," where he advanced to the semi-finals and later won the competition in the third season. He went on to host the VH1 series "Celebrity Fit Club" for six seasons and released a live performance DVD, "ANT: America's Ready."
ANT has also appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Howard Stern Radio show," and had his own series on MTV Network's Logo Channel, "The U.S of ANT." He has appeared in several films, including "Twin Falls, Idaho," "I am Comic," and "Another Gay Movie."
