Biography

Anthony Edwards is a multi-talented individual, renowned for his exceptional skills on the basketball court as well as his captivating performances on the silver screen.

Born on August 5th, 2001, in the vibrant city of Atlanta, Georgia, Edwards initially pursued his passion for football, playing quarterback, corner back, and running back for the Atlanta Vikings. By the age of 10, he had already gained recognition as one of the top running backs in the country, courtesy of the esteemed Pop Warner youth football organization.

However, Edwards' focus soon shifted to basketball, and he went on to attend Therrell High School in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was expected to graduate in the class of 2019. In the beginning of 2017, he made the decision to transfer to Holy Spirit Preparatory School, driven by a desire to enhance his educational prospects. This move ultimately led to his reclassification to the class of 2020, but after dedicating himself to improving his academic record, he was reclassified once more to the class of 2019 in late 2018.

As a top basketball prospect, Edwards graduated from high school and went on to attend Georgetown in Georgia, where he majored in marketing and continued to hone his basketball skills. In March 2020, he announced his decision to forgo his remaining college eligibility and declare for the NBA draft, signing with an agent in the process. The Minnesota Timberwolves subsequently selected Edwards with the number one overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft.

Edwards' impressive career has been marked by numerous milestones, including his record-breaking performance in the 2022 Minnesota-Memphis first-round match-up, where he scored the most points ever by a player in a NBA playoff series before the age of 21. Additionally, he boasts the second-most 40+ point games by a player before the age of 21, a feat only surpassed by the legendary Lebron James.
