Anusree is a talented individual who has received numerous accolades for her work in the entertainment industry. As a writer, actor, and director, she has made a significant impact in both theatre and television.
In the realm of theatre, Anusree's impressive body of work includes plays such as "Through the eyes of God", "Sisters", "Trident Moon", "Little Pretty and The Exceptional", "Sultans of the Street", "Brothel # 9", "Roshni", "Letters to my Grandma", and "Pyaasa". Her plays have been recognized with several awards and nominations, solidifying her position as a prominent figure in the industry.
In television, Anusree has worked on a variety of shows, including "Remedy" on Global TV, "Killjoys" on SyFy, "Nurses S1 & S2" on Global TV and NBC, "Transplant S2" on CTV, NBC, and Netflix, "I woke up a vampire" on Netflix, and "SkyMed" on Paramount+ and CBC.
Anusree's impressive list of awards and nominations includes the K.M. Hunter Award, RBC Emerging Artist Award, The Carol Bolt Award, and The Siminovitch Protégé Prize. She was also a finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize in 2018.
Currently, Anusree is the Commissioned playwright at Tarragon Theatre, where she is working on her new play, "147, 8th Street". She is also developing a feature film inspired by her Audio Play: "Sisters", as well as directing and premiering her short films, "The Birthday Party" and "God's Plan", which won awards for Best Performance and Best Editing at the Windsor International Film Festival.
In addition to her work in the entertainment industry, Anusree is also an adjunct professor of playwriting at the University of Toronto and a professor of creative writing, teaching advanced drama to MFA students at the University of British Columbia.
