Aris Mendoza, a talented individual with a passion for performing, hails from the vibrant city of Chicago. Her early exposure to dance and movement as a child sparked her love for the stage, and she went on to train in various styles such as ballet, jazz, and hip-hop.
As she grew older, Aris's desire to perform only intensified, leading her to convince her mother to relocate to Los Angeles when she was just 16 years old. It was during her high school days that she discovered her true calling as an actress, playing the role of Adelaide in the Fairfax High School production of "Guys and Dolls".
This pivotal moment marked the beginning of her professional acting career, which took off with her role in the critically acclaimed film "Quinceanera". The film won numerous accolades, including the Audience Award and the Grand Jury Prize at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival, and was later distributed by Sony Pictures Classics.
Aris's subsequent appearances include a return to Sundance as part of the ensemble cast of "Weapons" in 2007, as well as a role in the psychological thriller/horror film "Cyrus", where she played the intelligent and resourceful character Tina.
In addition to her film work, Aris has also made a name for herself in television, with notable appearances in the critically acclaimed CW series "Everybody Hates Chris", NBC shows "Life" and "Crossing Jordan", and most recently, the CBS drama "Code Black", where she plays a paramedic. Her impressive resume also includes eight episodes in the upcoming HBO series "Barry", set to air in the season one finale.
Throughout her journey, Aris has been recognized for her talents, earning four scholarships to study improvisational acting at the esteemed Groundlings school in Los Angeles.
