Astrid Proll's notoriety stems from her status as a co-founder of the radical left-wing extremist terrorist organization Rote Armee Fraktion, a group that would go on to leave an indelible mark on the world stage.
In the early days of her involvement with the organization, Proll played a pivotal role in the liberation of Andreas Baader, a key figure in the Rote Armee Fraktion's inner circle.
As a result of her activities, Proll found herself incarcerated on two separate occasions, first from 1971 to 1974 and then again from 1978 to 1980.
Following her release from prison, Proll redirected her energies towards more constructive pursuits, embarking on a successful career as a photographer, author, and editor.
