Ava Caryofyllis was born in 2011 in Sydney, Australia. She began her acting career at the tender age of five and has since been fortunate enough to collaborate with renowned actors such as Woody Harrelson, Josh Gad, Lupita Nyong'o, Garrett Hedlund, and Kelly Macdonald.
In addition to her impressive filmography, Ava is also set to star as Iris, the daughter of Marta Dusseldorp, in the ABC Drama series Bay of Fires, which premiered in 2023. Her performance earned her a Logie Award nomination for the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent. The second season of Bay of Fires is slated for release in 2025.
Ava's film credits include Thor: Love and Thunder (2022),where she played the role of Young Jane, as well as Netflix's Kate (2021),Little Monsters (2019),Dirt Music (2019),Hearts and Bones (2019),and On Halloween (2020).
Gregor Jordan, the director of Dirt Music (2019),had this to say about Ava: "When you find the right person, who really has all this natural talent and is perfect for the role, they are really just sort of doing it themselves. You don't necessarily have to do much, you might have to tell them where to stand and tell them where to look sometimes, but I'm always just blown away by the natural creativity of people like this. Ava was just incredible on set. She was just so cooperative and creative and was just so excited about being there."
Ava has also made appearances in Chris & Julia's Sunday Night Takeaway (2019) as Little Julia, and has starred in over 30 commercials internationally. She was also the face of the National Campaign for RUOK?.
