BJ McDonnell is a multifaceted individual, occupying the roles of both Director and motion picture camera operator. His professional affiliations include membership in the Directors Guild of America (DGA),International Cinematographers Guild (ICG) Local 600, and Screen Actors Guild (SAG).
McDonnell's accomplishments in the field of cinematography and camera operation have earned him recognition, including a Telly award in 2008.
In addition to his work behind the camera, McDonnell has also ventured into directing, with notable credits including "Hatchet III" in 2012. He has also helmed a critically acclaimed live-action rendition of the "Dead Island" commercial, which garnered over 1 million views in its first week of release on YouTube.
In 2015, McDonnell showcased his versatility by writing and directing a music video for the metal band Slayer, titled "Repentless". This project has been incredibly successful, boasting an impressive 37 million views on YouTube. The video went on to win the "Loudwire 5th Annual Music Awards" for Best Metal Video of 2015.
