Person Biography:
Barron Christian, born Donald Mark Barron Rolff Christian Mountbatten-Battenberg, was born on December 18th, 1945, in London, England. Due to his family's influence during World War II, he was brought to America in 1950 to live with a guardian. He was raised as Donald C. Parker and had a relatively unremarkable childhood.
As a teenager, Barron was taken from school and flown to England to attend an Oxford, Cambridge preparatory finishing school. He found solace in drama and eventually pursued a career in theater, joining the San Bernardino Civic Light Opera and working on Broadway roadshows.
At 21, Barron moved to Los Angeles and began his acting career, taking on the stage name Barry Christian. He appeared in the film "Educated Heart" but never completed it due to budgetary issues. He then focused on living the high life, indulging in drinking, drugs, and partying with celebrities.
In the 1980s, Barron co-created the precursor to "Baby Einstein," called BabyVisioN, which became a sensation. However, he regretted his misspent youth and began to take his career seriously, accepting small roles in television, commercials, and film production.
Barron worked as a Senior Art Consultant for a high-end art gallery in Encino and was discovered by a Warner Brothers television producer, who offered him a role in the animated Batman and Robin TV series. However, the 2004 Los Angeles earthquake struck, and Barron's plans were ruined.
Disillusioned, Barron moved to Golden, Colorado, where he began working in commercial voiceover production. He worked for major advertising agencies and narrated the Academy Award-winning short documentary "A Story of Healing" in 1996.
In 2008, Barron completed filming his role as Carl Simons in Eddie Murphy's film "NowhereLand" and starred in Kristian Day's feature "Body in a Dumpster." He is also the subject of the upcoming book "First Born?," which chronicles his family's history.
