Born and raised in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, Ben's early years were shaped by the influences of his childhood education at the "14 Holy Martyrs" grade school. This formative experience would later lay the foundation for a rich cultural heritage that would be passed down through four generations of Sicilian bakers, a tradition that would play a significant role in shaping his identity and artistic pursuits.
Ben's journey continued as a Vietnam veteran, where he honed his resilience and developed a deeper understanding of the human experience. This period of his life was followed by his academic pursuits, as he earned a degree in English Literature from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
Ben's intellectual curiosity and passion for the arts led him to explore new cultural horizons. He delved into the world of Classic Noh theatre in Japan, immersing himself in the country's rich theatrical traditions. This experience would not only broaden his artistic horizons but also deepen his understanding of the human condition.
In addition to his intellectual pursuits, Ben is also a skilled martial artist, holding a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Aikido. This physical discipline would not only enhance his physical abilities but also cultivate a sense of inner balance and harmony.
Ben's acting career has been marked by a diverse range of roles, showcasing his impressive range and versatility as a performer. He has brought to life a variety of characters, including a polka-dancing German restaurateur, a quirky Russian emigre, a waterfront tough guy, a Pakistani cabdriver, and, of course, an Italian.
