Person Biography:
Born in Jamaica, Watson relocated to Toronto with his family at the tender age of 10. Early on, he was captivated by the art of storytelling, drawn to the charismatic performers he saw on the big and small screens. Unlike some actors who jump into the industry at a young age, Watson decided to pursue a formal education before diving into the world of acting.
After completing high school, he enrolled at Humber College in Toronto, where he honed his skills in scene study, voice, and improvisation classes. In 2006, he made the decision to fully immerse himself in his craft, taking on every independent film, short, and project that came his way.
The breakthrough came in 2007 when he landed a lead role in "The Limits," which received critical acclaim in the festival circuit. He went on to secure various roles in television from 2009 to 2010. However, it was his role as "Tariq" in "The L.A. Complex" in 2011 that catapulted him to fame not only in Canada but also in the United States.
Currently, Watson is furthering his education as a graduate student under the guidance of Matthew Harrison at The Actors Foundry in Vancouver, B.C. When he's not acting, he enjoys cooking and is an avid writer, working on several film scripts he hopes to bring to life in 2012.
